Mark Davis

Director of Coaching 
Head Coach 2010 Boys

USSF A License.   

Coach Davis was voted 2018 Scenic West Coach of the year for both men and women’s programs.  Both teams topping the table of the Scenic West Athletic Conference.  The Bruin men hold a national ranking of 9th while the women hold strong at 13th.  

Davis was the head coach of Real Salt Lake women's soccer team from 2016-2018.  He was named UWS West Coach of the Year for his efforts during the 2016 season. In 2015 Coach Davis was an integral part of the coaching staff that led the RSL women to winning the WPSL Elite National championship.  He was named the PacWest Coach of the Year in 2013 and is the all-time winning coach in BYU-Hawaii soccer history.

He played at Iowa Western College and led the team to a conference championship in 2009. He went on to graduate from BYU-Hawaii and moved to Concordia University-Irvine where he gained his master's degree in coaching and athletic administration. Coach Davis also has recently recieved his United States Soccer Federation A license.

He played with several clubs including Utah Football Club and the Utah Rangers, winning a State Cup Championship in the U-18 age group in 2005 with the Rangers.  He also played in the Utah State Olympic Development Program (ODP) for four years.

Professional Qualifications/Education/Experience:

Co-Founder of Olympia FC and CelticRangers FC East in Heber Utah.  Director of Academy for Olympia and CRFC East. Currently serving as President of Olympia FC and Celtic Rangers FC.  Owner of Community Health and Wellness, a multidisciplinary medical practice specializing in sports medicine, pain, health, nutrition, and prevention.

Additional Experience:

●      Attended BYU Provo graduated pre med in 2005

●      Graduated from LACC with a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine 2008.

●      Graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine 2009.

●      Started a natural medicine practice, Community Health and Wellness, in Heber Utah 2009.

●      Graduated from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego with Specialization in Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology 2010. (Concussions).

15 years of coaching experience including Semi Professional, College, High School, and Club.

        Orchestrated a merger with one of the most successful clubs in Utah -Celtic and Rangers.  This resulted in
        greater opportunities and advancement for local athletes.

        Launched in 2014 – Present

        Created in response to the demand for quality coaching and training in Heber Valley.

        Used Background and network to attracted high-level trainers and coaches to Heber to provide services to the athletes.

Professional Qualifications/Education/Experience:

Co-Owner of Athletic Republic-in Heber City and Lehi, UT. Our sport-specific, individualized programming is designed specifically for athletes preparing for the upcoming season, gaining an advantage in the off-season and keeping their skills sharp during the season. Our programs push athletes hard and make them faster, stronger and more agile than they ever thought possible.

Coaching History: My coaching career began at the University of Colorado where I coached XC skiing for two years.  Following my time in Boulder, I started a new ski club the 2002 Olympic Venue, Soldier Hollow. I was hired by the US Ski Team and I coached with the US Ski Team from 2002-2017. During my time as a ski coach I returned to soccer and I have been coaching youth soccer since 2006.  


Player History: As an athlete I was a competitive skier and soccer player.  My soccer career included Colorado State Select teams, club soccer with Aurora Sting, Cherry Creek Lightning and Colorado Strikers.  I also played for Overland High School. At 16, I chose to focus on skiing. I competed three times in the FIS World Championships and twice in the Olympic Winter Games. My athletic career includes individual World Cup top-10's and two top-5 results at the World Championships in the Nordic Combined Team Event.


Successes: During my tenure with the US Ski Team, the US Nordic Combined Team has won 4 Olympic medals, 1 Gold and 3 Silver as well as 7 FIS World Championship medals, 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze.

Coaching History:

●      Head Coach, Brigham Young University- Hawaii, NCAA, PacWest Conference (2016 to 2017)

○   I was the Head Coach for both the men and women's NCAA Soccer Teams at BYU-Hawaii.

○   The position involved recruiting, budgeting, training sessions, team strategy and tactics, film sessions, strength and conditioning trainnig, communications, game strategy, mental toughness, and all other head coaching duties.

○   In 2016, as Head Coach, I led both the men and women's teams to a 500 + record, the first time in BYU-Hawaii history that one coach finished at 500 + with both the men and women's teams.

○      In 2016, my (men’s) player, Braden Bailey, was voted D2 Men's Soccer NATIONAL HERO of the Week! The freshman earned the award after he netted four goals in a 6-1 win against Fresno Pacific-the all time record for most goals scored in a single NCAA game at BYU-Hawaii in school history. Braden was named to the 1st team PACWEST.

○      In 2016, my (women’s) player Sydney Eddy (BYU-Hawaii) was named PacWest Newcomer of the Year. The Ole Miss transfer led the Seasiders and ranked eighth in the PacWest with 15 points on seven goals and one assist. She netted a team-best three game-winning goals, all in PacWest play.

○      In 2016, my (women’s) player Mackenzie Bean earned third team All-PacWest honors after scoring two goals and adding three assists. The Portland State transfer put 52 percent of her 25 shots on goal and lifted her team past Holy Names with a goal in the 107th minute.

○   In 2014, I helped (as 1st assistant coach) guide BYU-Hawaii men's soccer to a second place finish in the PacWest Conference, the highest men's conference finish in NCAA school history.

Ryan Fritzsche

History:
Ryan Fritzsche is originally from Salt Lake City, UT and moved to Heber City UT two years ago and immediately joined the Olymipa FC and Rangers FC club.  

Soccer Experience:
Ryan gained a passion for soccer while playing for Sparta United as a young teenager.  Over the years, the passion has continued to now coaching young players to be the best player they can be.  Ryan has coached many recreation teams for his son and daughter.  While living in Mt Pleasant, Ryan ran a successful soccer academy and coached the boys and girls North Sanpete High School soccer teams.  Ryan now enjoys coaching his Celtic FC and Rangers FC teams.
  

Devin Singh

Devin Singh has been a Soccer Instructor at Brigham Young University since 2016, and coached at Celtic FC since 2011.

Devin is from northern CA, where he played club soccer until age 17, and played on the Olympic Development team as well. He began playing Varsity soccer as a sophomore, and was captain of both his JV and Varsity teams. However, decided to shift his focus when reaching college.

Devin began his coaching career at an early age, holds his National D License, and looks forward to earning his C License in the near future. At age 15, Devin worked as an assistant coach and trainer for Ajax United Soccer Club in northern CA, with teams finished in the final 4 of the California State Cup tournament. After moving to Utah, Devin was recruited to coach for Celtic FC in 2011.

Devin is a certified personal trainer with National Exercise and Sports Training Association. He has helped multiple players go on to make their club’s premiere level teams, others go on to play college soccer, and one player to play for the U-21 Ghana National team.

On a personal level, Devin earned his Bachelor’s in Information Systems from BYU, and worked as a consultant with KPMG. After two years with KPMG, Devin returned to BYU where he completed his Masters in Religious Studies in April 2018. He plans to attend law school and become an advocate for religious freedom. He is the proud owner of two Pembroke Welsh Corgis named Kanye and BB-8, and is an avid Taylor Swift fan.

While he is all business on the field, he is fun and games off the field.

 

 

Max Willis

Max was Born in Rome, Italy & lived there 9 years where he quickly gained a passion for soccer.  He played soccer for American Fork High School and then at the University of Utah.  After serving a mission to Rome, he coached Orem High School girls soccer for several years.  He has played in various leagues including Park City Men’s Soccer.  Max has coached competitive soccer for 4 years and loves helping kids love the greatest sport in the world!  Today he is married with four kids and enjoys travelling back to Italy to watch his favorite team AS Roma play.  


 Katie Lamb

Former BYU and Boston University soccer player.  During her career she had four conference championships and four NCAA tournament appearances.  She played club soccer in Connecticut where her club placed 2nd place in the National championships.  She has coached soccer for 5 years at the club level and currently holds a class D license.
 Javier Ascua

Boys Academy Technical Director

Javier was born in Argentina.  He played soccer for Luz y Fuerza Club for several years in a defense position.  He is excited to coach and pass on all his knowledge to his students . Javier considers it his personal mission to provide his team with an awesome  experience and ensure they learn  proper soccer.

Started and played in 22 matches during UVU's run to a WAC Tournament title and appearance at the NCAA Tournament ... helped anchor the UVU defense to five shutouts, including a 1-0 shutout win over Grand Canyon in the semifinals of the WAC Tournament ... helped defense limit opponents to a .149 shot percentage and an average of just 11.7 shots per match ... ranked tied for second on the team with five assists ... named First Team All-WAC.

FRESHMAN (2016)
Appeared in eight matches as a freshman and started one match against CSU Bakersfield (Oct. 7) … attempted two shots on the year … helped UVU to four wins in the eight games she played in … played a season-high 63 minutes in a 1-0 win over Oklahoma (Aug. 28) … totaled 283 minutes on the season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Auburn Drive High School in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia ... also competed in track and field at ADHS ... played for Halifax City SC and Team Novia Scotia ... helped the Atlantic All Star team to a pair of Nationals appearances and led Team Novia Scotia to four-straight titles at the Atlantic Championships.
